How to crack an interview: what actually works

Cracking an interview is less about luck and more about preparation. Predict the questions you will face, then practise your answers out loud.

How to crack an interview

Predict the questions
Your resume, the job description and the company's interview style tell you most of what will be asked.
Prepare stories, not scripts
Five or six real examples with numbers can answer most behavioural and project questions.
Master the basics of your role
Fundamentals decide most technical rounds. Make sure you can explain them simply.
Practise the follow-up
Interviewers push past your first answer. Prepare the 'why' and 'what if' behind each one.
Communicate clearly
Answer in a structure, keep it to one or two minutes, and check that you answered what was asked.
Do a mock interview
One realistic practice round, out loud, exposes weak answers while there is still time to fix them.

  4. 4You practise, then get certifiedInterview Q&A after every lesson, then three proctored rounds ending in a voice interview with Ambo.

Questions, answered.

What is the most common reason people fail interviews?

Weak fundamentals and vague answers without real examples, often because they never practised out loud.

How can I crack an interview with no experience?

Lean on projects, internships and clear fundamentals, and show how quickly you learn.

How is this different from a list of interview questions?

A list is the same for everyone. Ambo builds your course from your resume, your target role and where you're interviewing, then writes every lesson from the interviewer's point of view: what they'll ask, a strong answer, and the follow-up they'll use to test you.

What is the certification test?

Three camera-proctored rounds that unlock one after another: an objective round, a hands-on round (coding or practical tasks for your role) and a voice interview with Ambo, who asks live follow-ups on your answers. Pass all three within 14 days to become TickBig Certified for 12 months.

Practise it out loud before the real one.
